Re: Action Heroines on DVD Artwork

There are SO many pages in this discussion because a small group of dedicated people keep viewing them and, increasingly, commenting on them. So I'm carrying on until I reach the end of the alphabet (we're currently going through the letter 'S'). The thread was never intended to be a compendium of real wresting movies and scenes. Yes, I'm aware of a few films where wrestling is the central part. You've named two and I'll try to come up with some more for you in my next reply - once I've had an opportunity to think about it and search for them. But your aim here isn't very clear to me. No offence, but you seem to be wandering between: 1. Films that are on the subject of female wrestling; and 2. Films with female fighters where the fighting style is substantially wrestling; and 3. Films that include a wrestling hold or throw performed on a male. Take your last example for instance. I haven't watched Diamonds Are Forever for a long time. But I don't remember it being something where "wrestling plays a CENTRAL part". I saw one scene with gymnastics from a white chick, and some kicking and striking from her African-American partner. I guess the part of the "sexiest wrestling scene ever" you're referring to is when the girl swings on a trapeze bar and grips Bond's head between her legs. To me that's a simple (but admittedly glorious!) headscissor, not a part of an exciting wrestling match. But please don't think I'm bursting for an argument with you on the subject. It's just that I have several rare DVDs (from Japan and South Korea in particular) where wrestling is the focus. But some are comedies and others are filmed in an almost documentary style - where we spend ages watching the girls learning basic moves whilst training with each other. Kicking male butt is incidental to the plot, not the core. So I don't want to waste my time digging them out and bringing them here, only for you to give them all the thumbs down because they're not what you really wanted. I very much hope you can take this reply in the helpful spirit that was intended. Last edited by verscont; 24-Jun-20 at 11:21. Reason: To add the original post. My reply looked odd without it. |

Re: Action Heroines on DVD Artwork
OK, here's my first attempt.
I doubt there has ever been, or ever will be, a fictional movie that has female wrestlers and male jobbers as its core theme. The nearest you're likely to get is either a serious or a Mondo documentary that covers multiple fetishes, where mixed wrestling just happens to be one of them. But if you'd like to see a documentary about Session Girls and their clients - rather than jobbers - then this one is your best bet (shown in the first three images below): [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] Moving into fiction, one of the best known films about female wrestling is American Angels: Baptism of Blood starring Mimi Lesseos who, of course, was a former professional wrestler in real life too. I'm sure I'm not the only member who has posted material from this sleazy classic. But - just like the one at the top of your short list of examples - it has zero mixed wrestling content. It's a similar story with Below The Belt, a much cheaper and more realistic tale. I've seen it on TV but, like Highway Amazon, I don't own a copy. As I said above, I have several wrestling girl DVDs amongst my obscure collection. Most of them would prompt comments like "WTF have I just watched?" across this Forum, let alone amongst the general public. So I've given you just one example below; the front and back DVD covers from Body Special Chokyo. |

Re: Action Heroines on DVD Artwork
Nice rare find with “Lady Chaplin” (1966). It starred (former) Bond Girl Daniela Bianchi.

Righto! Moving forward again today. I've definitely presented 'Star Slammer' and 'Star Crash' in Picture Forum threads already, and may get something out of another couple of these later.

If it's any help, I marked the former as being not worth a second viewing - even though I kept a DVD-R copy. But there's nothing alongside Stoic Girl so I'd have to watch it again to remind myself. That's just one of the problems of having so much stuff, especially when half of it's in a foreign language and alphabet! I have a database with information on each of my DVDs. But I'm not into FvF or Maledom. So I don't make a note of those scenes, and they don't stick in my memory (especially with 5,000+ titles in my collection) . All I can do is point you towards the two DVDs in the previous post that I've already posted in the Pictures Forum. Both have Fem vs Fem fights, but no Maledom. Star Slammer [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] Star Crash [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] As is often the case, I've added below a handful of further screenshots that didn't make the cut the first time around. |

Re: Action Heroines on DVD Artwork
This batch contains my first truly epic fail. Very occasionally I've chosen to upload a still of the DVD's main female attraction rather than its actual boring cover. But this is the only time I've felt forced to do that; having been unable to find a genuine image of 'Street Angels'.
I can only guess it originally came as part of a cheap Boxed Set. You know the kind of thing: "40 Amazing Action Movies on 10 DVDs! Over SIXTY HOURS of Sensational Entertainment for just $14.99!!!" |
