Re: Ring Fights on DVD
Straight after the events of my last post, the arena filled for what looked like a free-for-all (though actually it was a Male vs Female Team Event). After the defeated female opponent was carried from the ring, the cutaways showed that she wasn't dead after all - thanks to her Roman Period Kevlar Tunic.
Back amongst the action, the Gladiatrix turned on the guards [1] and was joined by her best mates. They included a little minx who took on several legionnaires with her fists and knees [2-5]. There was also some welcome sandal-shod foot-to-face action, but that was difficult to capture in stills [6-8]. Never mind at least you can see the outcome - Girls Win! [9] |

Re: Ring Fights on DVD
A few things surprised me about this one; firstly that titillating exploitation trash cinema dates back longer than I do. It was probably the second feature on a B-movie double bill when my parents were dating. But the big shock was that it was filmed in colour, and quite clearly too - even if the whiteout made the sand and sea look more like snow and ice.
And so, a few dozen shapely models turned would-be actresses donned animal skins to play... well, whatever they were supposed to be. They're not Cavewomen, nor Jungle Girls, nor Amazons; just Eye Candy for the 1950s male audience. When it came to this catfight, my money was on the darker-haired girl - especially when I saw her surprisingly well-developed biceps under those solid-looking shoulders. But my allegiance soon switched to the smaller blonde who, despite having no weapon, evened things up by disarming her opponent with kicks. But then she spoiled it all by biting. Hey ref! That's cheating! |

Re: Ring Fights on DVD
Blondie shows an impressive set of pearly whites for a civilisation that has no toothpaste, let alone dentistry [1]. She tries to take advantage of that bite, launching herself at her grounded opponent [2-5]. But the darker-haired girl already has her meaty thighs in position and easily kicks out [6-7].
They both get to their feet and lock up again, but neither of them can gain the upper hand [8-9]. Wow! Isn't this exciting! [10] Well, not any longer it isn't. After their soft, voluptuous bodies tumble across the hot sand for a while [11], reality sinks in. They're 1950s bombshell models, not accomplished lady wrestlers. And so we see Blondie unable to suppress a giggle as the pair switch to Tickling Mode [12-14]. Thankfully, Queenie has just returned from her fishing trip [15], and soon puts a stop to the action with her Bloody Big Spear [16]. Didn't anyone tell you that girlfights always have to be interrupted? [17] At least the scene was great for some salacious and sexy lobby card promotion [18]. |

Re: Ring Fights on DVD
From 'Parts Unknown' (well, Boston actually) here's a scene by an indie company that specialises in Wrestling-Horror mash-ups. I bought it to see one of my fave ladies Melantha Blackthorne, but all she did is talk in a cameo appearance. So here instead is a taste of the ring action. You don't need to see the end of the match - trust me.
Overall, I thought the girls put in a good performance, considering that neither are wrestlers and only one one of them is really an actress. The huge girl - whose height I wasn't able to establish - normally earns a living away from the screen mixing cocktails in a downtown bar. And despite her lack of ring experience, I'll bet she's pretty handy come Throwing Out Time. |

Re: Ring Fights on DVD
An absolutely stunning blonde is getting some kicking practice on the pads before a fight against a very dangerous opponent. Aww! I hope she doesn't get hurt; she's gorgeous.
I'll be posting the fight itself once I've gathered together the clearest screenshots. Meanwhile (foreground left) a much more famous Canadienne blonde sits slumped, head in hands, thinking "No! No!! No!!! Why did I let my agent sign me up to this crap?" |

Re: Ring Fights on DVD
And here is the cute blonde's opponent [1]. Pray for her [2]. This lethal woman in black is a real manhater, but can you blame her? We're told that, as a small girl, a gang of men: killed her parents; r*ped her; cut her tongue out; and threw acid in her face.
[3-10] Ah, but to even things up a bit, Cutie Pie has help taking on the brick outhouse. Look who's joining her - it's Shannon Tweed! Shazza is playing against her later 1990s type here, portraying a timid victim. She tries to floor her opponent with some low kicks, but Butch simply grabs her leg and deadens it with an elbow smash to the back of the thigh. [11-13] Cutie moves in from behind, but is easily swatted away. It looks like an easy victory for Butch, so in comes a third opponent - a kick chick wearing a yellow top. [14-27] Oh dear! Kick Chick soon has her leg caught too, and hers is painfully kicked AND elbowed. She then takes another painful blow to the spine that offers us a glimpse of the powerful bicep doing the damage. By the time her limp body is tossed to the ground, we're left wondering if she'll ever walk again, let alone kick. |

Re: Ring Fights on DVD
Ah yes the Deadliest Woman alive, with Merette van Kemp, a great movie for us female fight fans, the way she does that blokes eyes with thorns is just wicked. That movie is a real ball tickler, Merette deserved a sequel

Anyhow, on with the show. Yellow Kick Chick is out for the count as Ms. Tweed slowly rises, only to be knocked down again [1-2]. Cutie Pie treats us to more of her own ineffective kicks [3-4], but soon gets walloped by a crunching right hook [5-9]. Still dazed, she's thrown over Butch's shoulder and, on landing, gets stomped on her very pretty face [10-15]. Here's Merete herself [16], the prime victim of male prejudice, sexual and physical abuse. So naturally she's excited by the sight of distraught women in tears painfully getting the crap kicked out of them. Now there's only Shazza left. She gets kicked [17-18]; then falls for the old Wrestling Heel "Let me give you a hand" trick and gets another boot to the face [19-21]. Finally, she's lifted up by one hand and chucked into the pool [22-26]. Despite their best efforts to demonise Ugly Butch, I couldn't help thinking that if she scrubbed up a bit, and they took that 1960s Star Trek prop off her face, I wouldn't mind going a few rounds with her [27]. |

[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] BTW - Thorns? Look again! I doubt the use of 'stud eye-rings' as decorative face accessories will ever become fashionable if this example is anything to go by. |
