She's not quite ready for the ring yet, but I thought some of you might like to see an actress hard at work learning Indian Wrestling. And after spending all week whinging about the darkness, the Director here is making my eyes bleed with all that bright yellow.

It looks like she's quick to pick up the basics, and is soon ready to spar with more experienced wrestlers, both male and female. The young kid they picked to match her size and weight must think he's won the lottery. I doubt you genuinely have to be "one of us" to enjoy a pleasant afternoon rolling around the mats grappling a Bollywood heroine.

BTW - she's married to one of the most famous men in the world (though he's probably completely unknown in North America).

Ah! One final practice match against a girl of the same weight and it looks like she's ready [1-9]. Indian-style Wrestling doesn't have much participation or support outside its own country, so our heroine goes Greco-Roman for her competitive international debut [10-18].

But her journey isn't over yet. Her main ambition is to become the State Champion at 'Kushti', and that form of the sport allows mixed combat. So she'll have to beat a larger, stronger male to take his title away, and that means more dedicated practice in the weeks to come.

And finally, we're here! The preparations are over and it's time for an Indian 'Battle Of The Sexes', to see if the slender but skilled female can take the State crown off the much larger, and undefeated, Champion. After circling each other for a while, she moves in close to whisper in his ear. "I'm not just going to win the title today; once these people see how I destroy your reputation, you won't dare wrestle again - ever!" There's also a conversation going on in the crowd: "Hey, Salman, does this kinda thing make your dick go hard too?"

It soon becomes apparent there's only going to be one winner. The points rack up as she controls the contest like an expert matador teasing an angry bull. If it was a boxing match, the referee would have stepped in by now to save the guy from further punishment. But the Wrestling Mistress doesn't want a points win; she's after the sport's equivalent of a knockout blow - which, naturally is a 'knockout throw'. So she continues toying with her opponent until the time is right. [To be continued...]

Yes, I think we've seen enough here. But someone opened a picture thread for Bollywood Heroines, and she's certainly that. So I'll take the climax over there tomorrow.

This one comes from the bunch of contributions I call "Crap I Watch So You Don't Have To". Though to be fair to the makers, I've no idea whether it's really crap; my main point is that there's not much in it for us to see. I often take a punt on unknown Underground or Cage Fighting movies; just hoping an unexpected female bout pops up or, even better, an FvsM beating (which usually ends the correct way for me). Sometimes I strike lucky and sometimes I strike out. But mostly I get stuff like this.

So here are the five interesting seconds of Pit Fighter I've carefully culled from the interlinked 25 seconds of unnecessary cutaways to the crowd. Yes, I really am that good to you. But the real surprise was the identity of the female fighters. It's another habit of mine to check the cast list to see if I've watched a pair of credited actresses, or two anonymous local martial arts gym bunnies who'll return to total obscurity as soon as the day's filming is over. So which is it with these two do you think? Go on, have a guess!

[Answer: Of course it's neither! Amazingly, in real life, CIONA JOHNSON and KIM COLLEA are both career Make-Up Artists (key 'em into Google and see)! We're off to the weird and wacky world of wrestling Japanese-style today. I know you can't see a ring, but trust me - there's an onsite referee as well as a row of commentators behind a long desk watching this bout (I just haven't shown them). Clearly it's a catchweight contest as the slender hometown favourite soon discovers. After launching several kicks at her opponent's massive hips, she realises all she stands to gain is a broken ankle, and so goes up top to find something softer to hit [7-9].

In the second half of the images, we see two moves that make it obvious these ladies are experts at their craft. I'm not a big fan of American Pro Wrestling myself, but I'm sure the big redheaded bundle of muscle and curves will be familiar to many of you.

There was plenty more to this fight but I don't want to bore you with it. So I'll finish with this short set featuring another impressive Pro-Wrestling move. At the end there's proof a referee was in attendance (even if he's dressed like Widow Twankey).

When the ladies splashed into an electrified pool from the bridge above it, I expected the referee to declare the match tied due to a double fatality. But he was just making sure they'd both emerged from the water before he reached a Count of Ten.

Yes that's certainly Ms. Hunter, and she had time for a spot of intergender fighting on this Japanese tour [1,2].

My DVD has the weird title of 'Oh My Zombie Mermaid', but it's one of several completely different international versions, another being 'House Of Pro Wrestling'. So it's best to stick to the original: A! ikkenya puroresu.

It's 'Ladies Day' at the Gladiator Games, and these young fillies have turned up suitably dressed. The venue looks more like a Cattle Auction House than the Rome Coliseum, but the pair put on a decent showing. Hardly a second goes by without the enthusiastic Bulgarian extras giving them a 'thumbs down' of approval.
