I've always found it quite frustrating that there seems to be a helluva lot more "competition" going on in the private session world than the video world! Maybe that's just me though....

At a certain point, you kind of need to be real with yourself in recognizing that this fetish is a fantasy and that most people are not interested in risking injury to have a 100% competitive match just to make your video.

I’ve seen a few different posts recently about matches being marketed as competitive and questioning whether they really are. In light of that, I wanted to share my recent experience with Session Girls Productions (which I’ll abbreviate as “SGP”) and the view of at least one producer on competitive matches in the industry.

To me, a competitive match is one where both wrestlers are genuinely putting in an effort to win. They’re genuinely trying to get taps, defend being tapped, and aren’t faking or exaggerating anything. It doesn’t need to be unsafe, they don’t need to be trying to kill each other, but they should both be going for the win. One way I thought I could ensure a genuinely competitive match was by ordering a custom video and being very clear that’s what I wanted. I reached out to SGP last November about doing a competitive wrestling match between two female wrestlers of different sizes (for whatever reason, F/F size mismatches are my thing). I specified that I wanted the match to be fully competitive but also realized safety should be a top priority.

Someone I’ll call B to avoid any outing violation responded and said what I wanted was totally doable. To be clear, I never spoke to Jennifer Thomas directly at any point, although I noted B cc’ed her on most of our emails related to my first video. I decided on Mistress Kara vs Wind Goddess, and when I again emphasized I wanted a fully competitive match, B responded that “they will both be going for it, trying to win, but they won’t be killing each other.” That sounded like exactly what I wanted. The video honestly exceeded my expectations to the point that I decided to do another one several weeks afterward, this time Wind Goddess vs Dez Desire. Again I emphasized I wanted a competitive match. Again the video exceeded my expectations. At this point I was so satisfied I agreed to write a glowing review for SGP that they could put on their website. I sent the review to B and noted we should keep in touch. He agreed. That was the last communication I had with him.

Two weeks later I received an email from someone I’ll call C. C told me he shot my prior video and had helped build SGP with B. Apparently B had moved on to other projects and C was now Jennifer’s partner in the web site. C told me to let him know when I wanted another custom.

I reconnected with C last month to ask about a custom between Big Red and Wind Goddess when both were in Vegas for the Session Girls event, same specs as my prior videos. C said that would be totally doable. Because it had been awhile and this was my first time working with C, I felt it was a good idea to lay out the specifics again. Again I specified I wanted everything to be “100% unscripted/competitive.” C responded “all good on that.” Unfortunately Wind Goddess cancelled her trip to Vegas. I thought Jenevieve Hexx might work as a replacement and asked C if she’d be willing to do what I wanted. C said she would.

I got the video last weekend and it did not meet my expectations at all. Aside from decent arm wrestling and leg wrestling matches, it didn’t seem competitive, and some parts were downright comical.

Getting a video that didn’t meet my specs would’ve been frustrating enough. But the response I received from C unfortunately made my experience worse. I won't recount the full back-and-forth because this is already long, but there’s one quote I want to emphasize (and I'll attach a couple screenshots of the email here with names removed so you can see the full context). After C admitted the girls were only going semi-competitive and I pointed out that wasn’t what we agreed on, he responded:

“And here's the issue we need to clarify right away. The word "competitive" gets thrown around, but almost no girls will go full competitive. It is almost always semi-competitive, made to look intense. I assumed you understood that, so I guess that was my bad. Girls who actually go competitive charge way more than I charged you. And your previous 2 matches WERE NOT competitive, but as I said, with Wind Goddess being a little ball of energy, she made it look good, but Dez and Kara were barely breaking a sweat.”

C also said “none of the other producers I know do full on competitive.” Look, maybe I’m being incredibly naïve here, but I was surprised by his response. If that’s the case, why not tell me upfront when I asked for a competitive match? And I was particularly surprised he would take the approach of calling into question the prior two matches I was actually happy with.

It sounds like SGP’s view (or at least C’s view) is that even if you specify a match should be competitive, and even if they agree they will produce said competitive match, don’t expect it to be competitive and don’t expect them to tell you that upfront. And they feel this view is industry-standard. Is it? Does Jennifer share this view? Other producers? Is that how the wrestlers view it?

I had some discussions with both Fight Pulse and Wrestling Monica about doing competitive customs once things open back up a bit more. However, if this is how the industry views competitive matches, I’ll pass. Then again, maybe this is just one producer trying to make excuses for a subpar video. Would love to hear others’ thoughts on/experiences with this.
You would probably get better results if you went with Robin or Veve.

Added after 9 minutes:

If you are looking for real mixed competitive,go to You Tube and view clips from mixed BJJ matches that took place during actual tournaments.

If you want real competitive f/f matches you should order those from girls like Veve.

Now, most mixed wrestling matches are scripted or semi competitive at best. Even when the man wins, they go for basic moves like scissors or pins and it's usually against mediocre female wrestlers. No session wrestler wants to risk injury for just 10 or 15 minute video. Plus, a lot of guys believe or want to believe that they're 100% competitive anyway.

I share your frustration. In my experience, the following producers produce genuine competitive matches:
  • Femwin.com (I don't think he's producing anymore)
  • DoomMaidens.com
  • AlphaCatz.com (@[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] he did a genuine custom for me that was a one-sided match that I was very happy with. Consider doing customs with him if you want one-sided competitive matches)
  • FemaleWrestlingZone.com
  • Femwrestle (clips4sale)
  • tc-wrestling.com (not all but some)
  • Fightingdolls.com
  • Eastcoastcats.com
  • Freshfite.com
  • FemaleWrestlingChannel.com
  • ModelsWrestling.com (email him for a list of one-sided matches, he'll tell you)
  • WrestlingMonica.com (moreso her older matches; her more recent material seems to be less competitive)
  • thesubmissionroom.co.uk
  • absolutemixedwrestling.com

And of course...

FightPulse!

There are probably others. ECNWC and DWW of course are legit as well but no longer producing.

These days, I often find my favorite wrestling "porn" to be amateur grappling and MMA matches posted on YouTube and Instagram.

There is also a growing number of couples who film their private catfights on Fetlife and Twitter.

I hope to start producing soon. I almost produced my first match in July but decided to postpone when I found out one woman was traveling by bus during COVID.

Among many of the challenges I have already become familiar with that really limit this as anything more than an expensive hobby:

- Relatively high cost - I offered $300 to each girl with a $200 bonus going to the winner. I could shoot a mixed match for half that since there's only one girl to pay. To say nothing of the logistics of getting two girls to show up on time.

So, just to pay the girls: $300 + $300 + $200 bonus = $800

You add in travel costs (I don't own a car) + hotel costs (a suite with enough space for a mat) and it's easily $1,000, and maybe closer to $1500.

- Non-session girls are not going to be able to apply submission holds safely, so those matches would be limited to pins and maybe scissors which really limits how exciting the match can be compared to girls with martial arts training.

- Relatively few session girls who will wrestle another session girl are in the same city at the same time

- Some session girls think "competitive" means to act competitive rather than truly try their best, making the match automatically semi-competitive at best.

- Mixed sells much better and is far less risky for the girl.

- Session girls have good reason to be wary of competitive matches - not just because of injuries but her reputation can suffer if she gets beat badly

So the incentives between producers and between wrestlers make it really hard to get truly competitive matches.

The producers that manage to pull it off don't get nearly enough credit.

It's definitely understandable why truly competitive matches are such a hard sell to wrestlers. However, being respectful and up-front to your customers is a necessity. I'm more than happy to change a custom idea for a producer I like if they're truthful about what they can realistically deliver. What I'm not so forgiving about is when I'm being reassured that an idea can be delivered and then the final product is laughable. It's unfortunately made me a lot more cautious with even the more established producers. I've had several customs done from several different producers and the end products have been a mixed bag in general. Some of these have definitely resulted from poor scripting on my part, but several have also come from what I perceive as the inability to discern what can be delivered.

I recently had a custom done with WrestlingMonica.com in the hopes that she would be able to deliver a match that was at least partially competitive. I laid out my ideas for the match, which she fully agreed on, and I even asked for her opinion on which wrestlers from her roster she believed would be able to properly deliver the kind of match I was looking for. I went with her choices, although they wouldn't have been my first picks but I trusted her judgement. The match ended up looking like a practice session rather than a truly competitive match. I've been a fan of her content for a while and I was really excited for the match, so to say I was disappointed would be a hilarious understatement.

I don't list my experience to put anyone on blast. I just wish producers would be able to be a little less gung ho about taking people's money without thinking about if the customer's request is doable. This is why I have all the respect in the world for Zweig. I honestly can't think of another producer who puts as much effort as he does into making sure every match is labeled correctly and customers are properly informed about what he's capable of delivering.

This is the most important point. Don't want to do a competitive match? No problem! Just be honest about it. That's a bummer about your experience with Wrestling Monica. I was thinking of trying one with them, but definitely won't now.

Most of the custom "competitive" awrestling matches are a big joke and sometimes the customers want them that way. A session wrestler/producer once told me that some clients order competitive f/f matches but with submissions on both sides. She also told me that most of them prefer one sided competitive mixed matches where the guy can only defend.

I had no idea the word "competitive" was so open to interpretation. I know I will be sure to spell out exactly what it means whenever I'm dealing with a wrestler or a producer going forward.
