Sexiest Screen Fighters

If you follow my other threads, you'll know I've been torturing myself on your behalf recently. Yes, I've been sifting through some of Seagal's Three-Word-Title abominations hoping to capture something worthwhile.

At least (and at last) I found this plucky, captive Leather Lovely. The scene started with her hands tied, so my interest was immediately aroused. But they cut her bonds before she got to work. The stills are actually from two scenes, but they were linked and cropped up only two minutes apart.

Contract to Kill (USA/Monaco, 2016)

Watching this scene I was reminded of a pendulum or metronome. Every time it swings one way, I'm watching the actress. And a second later it moves to the other side and we see her stunt double doing the difficult bit. And back and forth it swings for ages, with alarming regularity - Actress! Stuntwoman! Actress! Stuntwoman! etc. It's a damn good job nobody made a drinking game out of it.

But, to be fair, the Bollywood Heroine looked feisty and energetic enough, even though the gymnastics were beyond her capabilities. And I've carefully chosen the stills to ensure we get her alone, including - next to the end there - the one and only time she kicked a goon herself.

This Space Cowboy Opera (or whatever it was meant to be) played out like a TV Pilot for the kind of Sci-Fi outcasts-on-the-run show that we've seen dozens of times already. And it brought nothing new to the genre. But I wanted to see the interestingly-named Bad Girl character in action, so here she is [1-3].

Yes, that's it. A drunk in an alien bar grabs her ass, so she floors him in a very badly filmed way. (I'm not selling this very well, am I?). To fill the image row up a bit, I've added the other main female character decking another guy with this heavy punch [4-6]. You know what to expect, then.

"A young girl who competes in Tae Kwon Do has trouble winning tournaments. Fate provides her an opportunity to train with a martial arts master. Will she win her next tournament?"

Of course I couldn't resist grabbing hold of something with that brief synopsis. And, sure enough, it played out just like Karate Kid IV - or whatever they called the franchise-ending one with Hilary Swank.

Unfortunately - yes, there's always a catch, isn't there? - this was proper competition Tae Kwon Do. And that means being kitted out like an ice hockey goaltender, crash helmet included. Which isn't at all sexy; at least not to my eyes. So instead here's the (otherwise unknown) high-kicking, cute, blonde teenager engaging in sparring to prepare for her showdown fight.

Not any more, I haven't. The 'Extras' Menu contained a stack of fight scene rehearsals. And that meant we got to see the lovely blonde stuntwoman unencumbered by ancient armour or annoying cutaways to the unskilled actress heroine. So I've presented some of her action in the posts below:

Thanks for the suggestion. But for me it wouldn't be easier. As I've said so many times, all my mainstream contributions come from a personal DVD collection of 5,000-6,000 titles.

I spend hours watching, noting, re-watching, capturing, editing, describing and uploading screenshot images from these scenes every day. I am not going to waste more time by then searching for crappy online bootlegs of stuff I already own on official releases.

But I'm (almost) always happy to name the source and - in this thread particularly - the timestamp too, for any members who do want to use Google to search for the corresponding videos. And I don't mind at all if those who find them subsequently post links in the threads I've opened for the stills.

I trust you can see I'm making these points simply to explain the nature of my posts, not to moan at you for providing that link. Cheers. VC.
