Default Lost a Match in a Wrestling Tournament vs a Female

I (24) wrestled a few years in HS, entered a wrestling tournament with my friend. First match I faced a girl and lost kinda bad. Shook hands, match started, and I realized she was a experienced wrestler who actively trained and was looking to win. Basically for 4 min straight I got out wrestled and eventually lost via tech fall to her. Whistle blew, kinda embarrassed I got up, she got her hand raised, then shook her hand and congratulated her.

Thanks for this quick overview of the embarrassing loss, mate. I would love to hear more details about how she outwrestled you and how you felt while it was happening.

She was able to control me during the match due to her better technique and her being slightly stronger than me. She scored a lot on near falls to almost pin me many times during the match. When it was happening I was trying my hardest to not lose this match to this girl in front of all these people while trying to remain composed and not panic.

When it happened I was a bit embarrassed. Just going to take more time and train before I compete again, going against someone who has been competing and training to wrestle competitively will own you lol.

That is true, however, losing by tech fall can be worse sometimes.

Did she beat a bunch of other guys in the tournament? Too bad you can't get a rematch but in a more private setting.

She beat a guy in the match after mine, then she lost her 3rd match. Going to enter another local tourney in a few months, might face her again there.
